Housing Assistance
In some cases, patients have to travel to a hospital or treatment center to receive appropriate cancer care. For patients and family members, finding housing during treatment may be a challenge. Treatment centers may offer a number of options such as short-term housing or discount arrangements with nearby hotels. Ask the clinic’s social worker or oncology nurse for suggestions. Below you will find organizations that offer housing assistance for cancer related needs.
Ronald McDonald Houses
Ronald McDonald Houses provide temporary residences near medical
facilities for families of seriously ill children, including those
with cancer, receiving treatment. Families are asked to make a small
donation of $5 to $20 per day if possible, and if not, the stay is
free.
